Transcend Robotics

The Mini 2

Throwable. Rugged. Obstacle climbing.

A 10-pound throwable reconnaissance robot for patrol and SWAT that grows from two sections to three or four when the job calls for more climb, more payload, or more runtime. One robot. One controller. Three configurations. Built in the USA.

Why the Mini 2

Throw it in. Drive it through. Add a section when you need to.

5 in / 8 in

Obstacle climb as a two-section robot, and as a three-section robot. Four sections take on some stairs.

25 ft

Throw rating, with a 14-foot drop rating. It lands either side up and the camera and controls orient themselves.

2–4+ hrs

Runtime per mission on swappable, rechargeable 18650 batteries. Charge in 2 to 4 hours on a 2-amp charger.

Configurations

Two, three, or four sections

Sections connect with quick-connect hardware and electrical links. Start with the two-section throwable and add sections as climbing, payload, or duration demand.

Use cases

See the situation before anyone goes in

Barricaded subject

Locate a barricaded subject room by room while officers stay behind cover.

Domestic disturbance

Enter first by robot and confirm whether weapons are present before the team makes entry.

Non-compliant subject

Open a line of sight and de-escalate from a safe distance before physically entering a structure.

Subject in crisis

Observe a subject under duress from outside the room and make a better-informed decision about when and how to engage.

Perimeter and yard scout

Toss it over a fence and run it across grass, gravel, or bark dust to the back of a building for a second set of eyes.

Vehicle and crawlspace inspection

At 8 inches tall, the two-section unit drives under vehicles and into crawlspaces and other tight spaces.

Features and capabilities

Built for the strenuous demands of law enforcement

Throwable and rugged

The frame is machined from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum with a Type III hard-coat finish. Internal components are potted for durability and longevity. Rated IP65 against dust and water.

Highly mobile

Independent all-wheel-drive brushless motors, zero-radius turns, and three speed settings from 1 to 12 mph. The offset, overlapping wheel design handles snow, dirt, branches, broken concrete, trash, clothing, and curbs.

Lands either side up

Throw it and drive. Controls and camera orient automatically to whichever side the robot lands on.

Sees in the dark

High-resolution EO/IR camera with a tilting camera view and covert IR illumination for low-light and no-light work.

Two-way audio

Talk to a subject through the robot and hear the response from the controller, so you can communicate before anyone makes entry.

Picatinny rails on every section

Each section carries a Picatinny rail for lights, sensors, and other mission payloads, up to 20 lb on a two-section unit and 40 lb on four.

Radio agnostic

Long-distance digital 2.4 GHz MIMO radio standard (Microhard pMDDL2450), with an upgrade path to Silvus StreamCaster. Both support command mesh network sharing.

Scales in the field

Add a third section for 8-inch obstacles, heavier payloads, longer missions, and a backup camera. Add a fourth for some stairs. Same controller throughout.

Swappable power

Rechargeable 18650 battery packs swap in the field and run 2 to 4+ hours.

Made in the USA

Designed in San Diego and manufactured in the United States, with commercial-spec compute, motor controllers, and radio.
