Hot Gas Delivery System: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Hot Gas Delivery System?
An accessory that mounts on the center section of the Vantage robot and lets officers deploy hot OC/CS gas indoors, exactly where they want it, without exposing the flame or sending an officer in.
Which chemical munitions does it work with?
Any brand of OC/CS munition.
Is it safe to use indoors?
Yes. The burn-safe canister was designed and tested with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Special Enforcement Bureau to reduce the chance of starting a fire inside a structure.
How is the gas deployed?
From a dedicated controller with a safety switch. The operator drives the robot to the subject, gives warnings over the two-way audio, and deploys only when ready. The quick-reset pull-ring motor system allows repeat deployments.
Can the robot climb stairs with the gas system mounted?
Yes. The Vantage climbs stairs and obstacles with the Hot Gas Delivery System attached.
What is the range and runtime?
Up to 600 feet non-line-of-sight and 2,500 feet line-of-sight, with a dual battery bay for 24 hours of continuous runtime. It is rain and dust resistant.
